Just recently, producer Akshay Kumar shared the first look poster of Durgamati that left everyone pretty intrigued. Seeing Bhumi Pednekar bringing something new to the table, everyone is psyched to see how Durgamati turns out to be, which is reportedly a remake of Telugu film, Bhaagamathie starring Baahubali star Anushka Shetty. The film, which was initially titled Durgavati, has been changed to Durgamati after some controversy. This time, Akshay Kumar unveiled the motion poster of Durgamati starring a fierce-looking Bhumi Pednekar that will send chills down your spine. In the poster, Bhumi is seen wearing a red saree and sitting on a throne with snakes over her head.
Bhumi is seen exuding anger and revenge in the motion poster. The trailer of the same is said to be out tomorrow. Akshay shared it on his Twitter handle and wrote, "It's payback time! Get ready to meet #DurgamatiOnPrime on Dec 11, @PrimeVideoIN . Trailer out tomorrow!" While Bhumi wrote, "Sabka Hisaab Lene Aa Rahi Hai #Durgamati Trailer Out Tomorrow!" The actor said in a statement, “It is the first time that I am helming a film alone and it is exciting as well as nerve-wrecking. There is a lot of responsibility on me. I have been very fortunate as an artist and I’m proud of my journey in cinema so far. So, I’m grateful for this opportunity."
She added, "I have always had a co-star to share the responsibility with, now I am helming this film. I am really excited to see how people react to this. I have never looked like this, people have never seen me in this avatar."
Durgamati also stars Arshad Warsi, Karan Kapadia, and Mahie Gill in pivotal roles. The film is being bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar and Akshay Kumar and will release on Amazon Prime Video on 11 December.
