Lock Upp 2: Ram Kapoor Breaks Down Recalling Father’s Final Wish, Says ‘Can You Help Me in Dying?’

The latest episode of Lock Upp 2 witnessed one of its most emotional moments as actor Ram Kapoor made a deeply personal revelation about his late father’s final days. During a task that required contestants to reveal their biggest secrets, Ram shared that he had stood by his father after the latter chose not to continue treatment following a relapse of pancreatic cancer.

Opening up about the painful chapter, Ram revealed that his father was first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 63 and underwent 18 chemotherapy sessions. The treatment helped him recover for nearly a decade, but when the cancer returned during the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided against undergoing treatment again.

Recalling their final conversation, Ram said his father called him and expressed his wish to die peacefully instead of fighting the disease once more. According to the actor, his father asked him, “Can you help me in dying?” Ram admitted the request left him shattered, but he eventually respected his father’s decision after being convinced that he would otherwise face his final moments alone.

Ram further shared that he remained by his father's side in the ICU, holding his hand until the very end. He revealed that his father had requested that no one cry at his funeral and wanted to leave the world with dignity. The emotional confession left fellow contestants teary-eyed.

The actor also disclosed that the incident had a lasting impact on his family, saying his mother and sister have not spoken to him for more than five years because of the decision he made. Despite the emotional fallout, Ram said he believes fulfilling his father's final wish was one of the most meaningful things he could do as a son. He added that witnessing death so closely transformed his outlook on life and freed him from the fear of mortality.
