Marvelous Mrs Maisel: Rachel Brosnahan Slams Trolls Mom-Shaming Her Character As Season 3 Premieres
The American comedy-drama ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’, is a critically acclaimed series and has won several awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series- Musical or Comedy, and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. It stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, a single mother who discovers her knack for stand-up. The show is set in the 1950s, and her character has received criticism as she does not devote a lot of time to her kids due to her late-night gigs, her job and other factors. Now, as the third season of the show has launched today, Rachel has spoken up about the criticism and has the perfect reply for all those judging the character.

Entertainment Weekly quoted Rachel Brosnahan saying in an interview with SiriusXM stars that she is done with her character Midge being mom-shamed. She said that her character is someone who is pursuing a brand new dream and that she is sometimes self-centered because of it, but the father Joel steps up in a way that is modern for that time. She also said, “They have four loving grandparents, they have a Zelda; they have the privilege of having so many different people around to help them raise their children." After that, Tony Shalhoub, who plays Midge's father Abe, also spoke up about parenting and said, “Now you have people that are mom-shaming, but you also have helicopter parents — that's the other extreme. What in God's earth is good parenting?"

Rachel Brosnahan also talked about season 3 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and said that viewers will definitely see Midge’s ex-husband Joel become a primary caretaker, which is very progressive for the time.
