Netflix's Docuseries Bad Boy Billionaires Find No Relief In Legal Tussle, Patna HC Demands OTT Platform To Approach Local Court
OTT platform Netflix's docuseries Bad Boy Billionaires is still stuck in a legal tussle. The docuseries is based on India’s most infamous business figures such as Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Subrata Roy, Mehul Choksi and Byrraju Ramalinga Raju.  The promo of the docuseries had it that the series will premiere on September 2, 2020, but due to the legal tussle, it is yet to see the light of the day.

As per reports in Firstpost.com, the OTT platform has been asked by Patna High Court to approach local court to uplift the stay put on the release of this docuseries on Friday. Though the Senior advocate Ranjit Kumar supported by advocate Amit Shrivastava in the appeal for Netflix has sought a vacation pertaining to stay order by Araria court located in Bihar, HC demanded the OTT platform to approach a local court for the final decision.

The above mentioned court has objected to the OTT platform, from using the business tycoon Subrata Roy’s name in it. Following this objection, senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi had moved to Supreme Court to get relief for Netflix, however, the SC has dismissed the plea, as Vikas Singh on behalf of Sahara India opposed this plea of the OTT platform. Also as per reports as the order for getting a stay on docuseries was put by a civil judge, the OTT platform has to approach district judge to get relief in this matter and not HC.

Meanwhile, Mehul Choksi filed a plea in Delhi HC for pre screening of the docuseries, but it was dismissed. ALSO READ: Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare Trailer: Bhumi Pednekar And Konkona Sen Sharma Starrer Is About Shattering Rules
