New Netflix Trailer Out: A Marriage Story Starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver
Making the rounds of film festivals worldwide, Netflix’s latest film is a take on marriage and divource. Here’s a look at the trailer and why we are looking forward to it
One of the warmest and genuinely beautiful trailers we have watched in a really long time is for the Netflix film, A Marriage Story. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, one of Hollywood’s finest actors, and Adam Driver, who we’ve seen before in Star Wars films and in the HBO drama series, Girls, also a fine actor. The film is directed by Noah Baumbach who has earlier directed critically acclaimed films like Frances Ha and The Squid and The Whale.
The trailer manages to be one of those trailers that warms your heart and fills it with joy in one moment and breaks your heart in the next. It is also the few trailers out there that warrant multiple viewings. We witness a love letter between a couple, played by Johansson and Driver. She is talking about the things he loves about him and how he makes her happy. Soon, we see that they are at a legal proceeding and are getting divorced.
Just when you think the trailer is over, it cuts to his love story where he is talking about the things he loves about her. It is absolutely endearing. We also see their child and moments of pure bliss with them as a family. In a marriage so perfect and so full of love, what exactly can cause them to part ways? Will it be an amicable separation or will they part ways with bitterness? We will know all that and more when we see A Marriage Story.
While it is mentioned in the trailer itself that A Marriage Story will also get a theatrical release in select theatres, we don’t know if any of them will be in India. We look forward to catching the film on Netflix who is clearly upping their content game with each release. Here’s looking forward to a great film!
