Patriot Act Season 4: Why You Should Watch
Netflix’s Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj is back for a fourth season. With the first episode out already, here’s why we love the show
If you haven’t discovered Hasan Minhaj yet, you are truly in for a treat. We would recommend starting with his hilarious Netflix special, Homecoming King before turning your attention to Patriot Act. Named after a piece of legislation in the United States, the show can be best described as a comedic take on social issues.
The first 3 seasons were met with great success and the show is now back for a 4th season. Although a few episodes may seem irrelevant to an Indian audience because they are steeped in an American context, each episode is packed with information and comedy alike. Special mention to the Supreme episode, the Amazon episode and the episode on Indian Elections. It is clear that Hasan is fearless while he takes on some of the biggest issues that plague the world.
Sometimes, his candour has landed him in the heart of controvery but Hasan remains undeterred. While it may seem like this show is shaped by his opinions, he also backs his opinions with strong facts and data. It is indeed an educative think piece that will pack a whole lot of information in a 30 minute form. What’s more – you will be thoroughly entertained through it too.

With Patriot Act making its way for a 4th season recently, the first episode delves into the gaming industry. He explores the work culture at two of the giants in the field – Telltale Games (The Walking Dead) and Blizzard Activision (Call of Duty). Over the next half hour, we are exposed to some of the most gruesome truths.
Games that help us unwind and relax are actually fostering a culture of stress, burnout, sexism – a complete violation of basic human rights. For the ordinary viewer, this is an eye-opening tale of exploitation, something they may not have been privy to earlier. We must know what we sign up for when we give into what seems like a harmless video game.
Patriot Act Volume 4 is streaming now on Netflix and a new episode is out every Sunday.
