Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra On Toofan: 'It's Always Amazing To Keep Seeing Your Movies Go From One Platform To Another' - EXCLUSIVE
Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur -starrer Toofaan was released on OTT a few months back and it received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. The sports drama film directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra tells the story of a national-level boxer Aziz Ali. After winning hearts with its OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, the film is now set to reach Indian households with its world television premiere on Zee Cinema on 31 October.

Talking about the film an excited director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said, "It's always amazing to keep seeing your movies go from one platform to another. While for Toofan we didn't get a theatrical release because they were not open. But most certainly it performed exceptionally well on the OTT circuit. I'm told that it broke a record of the highest watched Hindi film on OTT for Amazon and more than the record it got a lot of love and appreciation from people and that is very difficult to quantify.

He further adds, "Now the film is gonna be premiered on Zee it will go to millions of houses hold. Zee as a category and a brand is also a very family watched kind of a channel. Toofan is a family watched film, there is something for everyone in it. It feels like an amazing DNA match for Toofan and Zee. So more than excitement there is a sense of anticipation that now once again more and more people will get to see it. I hope it is well received as it did the last time."

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the film will have its world TV premiere on October 31 at 12 pm.
