It is World Book Day and while we drench ourselves in the fragrance of paper, here's a list for those who love to watch the adaptations of their favourite books on screen. It is a well-known fact that many movies and web-show writers have taken inspiration from renowned books to write a script that will entertain the masses. From Game Of Thrones, Sacred Games, The Witcher, and many more, there are quite a few web-shows that have been inspired by books.

Well, as it is the season of binge-watching all the shows that OTT platforms like Amazon Prime, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix and many more have to offer thanks to the outbreak of Coronavirus, we have curated a list of shows that are inspired by books. So grab on your bowl of popcorn and get ready to binge-watch on these shows. Or just slip into the pajamas and start reading the book if you have watched the shows already!

Starting with Games of Thrones, this epic drama available on Disney+ Hotstar is the adaptation of George RR Martin's book series titled 'A song of ice and fire'. While the show has come to an end, the last part of the book series is yet to come.  


Talking about Netflix's much-acclaimed Sacred Games starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan, the web-show is the official adaption of a book with the same title penned by Vikram Chandra.


Big Little Lies on Disney+ Hotstar is the US version of a book penned by Liane Moriarty. The book released in 2014 and made it to New York Times Best Seller list.


Likewise, Pretty Little Liars on Amazon Prime is the televised version of Sara Shepard's book with the same name.


Sex and the City that had four beautiful ladies living the life on their own terms was based on Candace Bushell's series of essays published with the same name. The movies that went on to become a great hit among the masses are available on Amazon Prime.


The web-series that we are currently hooked to is The Witchers made available on Netflix.
