Sidharth Malhotra And Kiara Advani’s Kargil War Drama Shershaah To Have An OTT Release?
Seems like the much-awaited movie Shershaah starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani is finally set to entertain the audience. As per the social media update of LetsOTT Global the makers of the movie have opted to release the film on the OTT platform. As per their Tweet, the movie will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video, also the makers are aiming to release the movie in August 2021. This marks Kiara Advani’s third movie to hit the OTT platform amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

LetsOTT Global tweeted, “BIG NEWS: Siddharth Malhotra - Kiara Advani starrer war-drama #SherShaah directed by Vishnuvardhan is opting for a DIRECT OTT release via Amazon Prime. August 2021 premiere on cards.” Though it is being speculated that the movie will release around Independence week in August, but the makers are yet to make an official announcement for the same. This biopic based on the life of Kargil War Hero, Captain Vikram Batra was scheduled to release on July 2, 2021, i.e, today.

With COVID-19 cases slightly being lowered in the first quarter of 2021,  plans to open the theatres was on cards, hence, the makers unveiling the poster had announced the date for the theatrical release. However, due to the second wave of the pandemic, the country continues to be in a lockdown state, thus getting the makers to opt for OTT platform.


Shershaah went on floors in 2019; actor Sidharth Malhotra plays Captain Vikram Batra onscreen who sacrificed his life during Kargil War in 1999. The actor will be seen playing a double role in the movie, as in real life, Vikram Batra had a twin brother, Vishal Batra.
