Sonakshi Sinha SLAMS Netizens Who TROLLED Sanjay Leela Bhansali For Heeramandi; Actress Says, ‘When Did We Promise People A History Lesson?’
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has made her mark in the Hindi film industry with her versatile performances. Despite all the criticisms, she never lets the negative opinions deter her from working hard toward building and establishing her career. Her recent web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been under a lot of scrutiny ever since it was released on Netflix. From the netizens trolling the actors for their lackluster performances to calling out the director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for not showing an accurate description of Heeramandi in his debut web series, the show has been a trending topic on social media.

Sonakshi Singh, who essays the roles of Rehana and Fareedan Jahan, a mother-daughter duo, has now opened up about the same during an interview with ETimes and questioned them. She stressed the fact that SLB created his world of Heermandi purely for entertainment. Even though the show is inspired by the historical place in Lahore, he didn't promise the audience a history lesson. ALSO READ: EXCLUSIVE! Yes, Heeramandi is a place which exists in Lahore but we never told you that we are going into the history of it. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an artist and he's creating a world for you.” ALSO READ: Richa Chadha Wore A 40 Kg Vest During The Rehearsal Of 'Masoom Dil Hain Mera' From Heeramandi? Actress Reveals WHY

The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actress went on to call out the trollers for accepting projects like Bridgeton, which just like SLB’s Heeramandi is a ‘fictionalised version of what it was’. She urged everyone to accept the show for it;s entertainment value. She added, “In no way is Sanjay sir trying to be realistic. He's selling you the idea of a dream and a vision, and that's what he's known for. I think every filmmaker has his own style and this is his, so I think they should treat the series for what it is.”
