Tandav Actress Kritika Kamra On Her Interest In Joining Politics, 'I Have No Such Ambitions'- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO
Kritika Kamra makes her digital debut with Amazon Prime Video's latest presentation, Tandav, starring Saif Ali Khan. Excerpts from the conversation:

What sort of excitement do you have for Tandav?
It is my digital debut that is why I am so excited. We finished shooting for this show in 2019 and I have been mum about this almost for more than a year. And now, I am nervous as it's now for the viewers to see. I am excited to watch other people's bits but to watch my bit I am very nervous. It always happens to me.

What excited you the most to join the series?
I was blown away with the writing of the show in general. Not just my character but all characters are so well-edged. They are so layered and complex and that's what makes them like real people. They are not black or white they have got shades of grey. They have got flaws and have limitations so that was very exciting to read. And the whole drama that happens in the show. Then of course Ali Abbas Zafar making his first web series. I have watched his films.

You play a Kashmiri girl in the series...
Yes, my character is from Kashmir and her name is Sana Amir. Although you don't see her live in Kashmir but you kind of understand her backstory. Because there is a reference to that. She is studying in Delhi and very politically active in her university. She got her ideology. And she also has a journalistic dream. Her journey in the show is very interesting like how you find her in the beginning of the series to the end of the season is a complicated arc.

How much Kritika is interested in politics?
I am always interested to know what is happening around me. We all should be aware of what is happening in our country. We are voting citizens so this is something we all should do. So, I am politically inclined in that sense.

Do you feel if a celebrity enters into politics they have a plus point?
We have seen some examples where people are doing very well. Although I don't have such ambitions. So, I don't see myself going that way.

Digital is also bold in terms of content. Would you be comfortable taking any such character?
The definition of bold is a bit tricky. A lot of time is what is called bold is not really bold. It's just done for eyeballs. I don't think I am just comfortable doing that. If the messaging is bold or the story which is coming out is bold that's bold- it's not about how many clothes you are wearing.

Your TV viewers miss you. Do you also miss that platform?
I have done a lot of television and for a lot of years. TV has given me a lot and I still get a lot of love and support from my fans. That's very heartening and I hope they see me and like me in this new avatar also. The lines are blurring now. So, I guess everybody who was watching TV is also watching web content. It's just different and good quality content. I want to be a part of this kind of thing. I am very sure the people who have loved me so far will also enjoy this.

And how do you see your film journey till now?
My film journey is still on. I have just done one film and I am looking forward to doing some more. 2020 things just didn't take off and it was difficult shooting. But I finished shooting other web series though. That should also come out sometime this year. So, Film and Web are the places that I want to explore.
