The Empire: First Look Of Kunal Kapoor As Baadshah from Disney+ Hotstar's Epic Period Drama Series Revealed
The Empire starring Shabana Azmi, Drashti Dhami, Dino Morea, and Kunal Kapoor is touted to be the biggest and grandest show and is expected to release soon on Disney+ Hotstar
The imperial and majestic first look of actor Kunal Kapoor who is making his digital debut with The Empire was released today by the makers. The actor will be reprising the role of Baadshah in this epic period drama. This is Kunal’s first-period drama series and the actor looks every bit feisty and fierce as Babur in the poster which was released on Wednesday.
The magnum opus series is mounted on an unprecedented scale and is created in conjunction with National Award-winning filmmaker Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment, the series tracing the origins of a dynasty, promises a magnificent visual spectacle mounted on a scale not seen in the digital realm before. It is touted to be the biggest and the grandest show ever created in India.
Speaking about the show actor Kunal Kapoor said, “It's been challenging but fun! The makers have paid special attention to this character’s look - it is very unique to his personality. Grandeur and royalty aside, this role is fierce and emotionally complex at the same time.”
During a press interaction yesterday the actor also called
the project an interesting experience. “It is an epic period drama. I have
never had a chance to do something like this. It was an interesting experience
and mounted on a huge scale. It is a visual spectacle and I want to see how the
audience reacts. It was incredible and challenging for all of us,” he said.
Co-directed by Mitakshara Kumar and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani (Emmay Entertainment), The Empire promises a world-class viewing experience and will release soon only on Disney+ Hotstar. The series also features Shabana Azmi, Drashti Dhami, and Dino Morea in pivotal roles.
