Vidyut Jammwal And Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Sanak Takes The OTT Route With Disney+ Hotstar
After the success of Khuda Haafiz last year, Vidyut Jammwal’s upcoming actioner, Sanak: Hope Under Siege, with Vipul Amrutlal Shah also takes the OTT route; to stream on Disney+ Hotstar soon
The ongoing Covid pandemic might have adversely affected a lot of industries, but the OTT platform has witnessed a boom in its business. With movie theatres being closed for a better part of the last one-and-a-half years, the OTT platform has become the premium source of fresh content and entertainment. Even big stars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt have taken the OTT route for their projects.
Action star Vidyut Jammwal too faced success on the digital platform last year with his film Khuda Haafiz, which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. The success of the film even paved the way for a sequel titled Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2, which is currently on the floors. And now, the actor is all set to carry that momentum forward with his next release.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s actioner, Sanak: Hope Under Siege, has joined the list of big-ticket Bollywood movies taking the OTT route. Directed by Kanishk Varma, the movie featuring Vidyut and Bengali actress Rukmini Maitra, will be streaming soon on Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex.
The makers took to social media today to make the announcement along with launching a new poster for the film featuring Vidyut who is holding a gun, like a man on a mission. Vidyut captioned the poster saying, “Maine suna hai SANAK kuch bhi karwa Sakti hai aur pyaar main Sanki bana sakti hai... Ab meri #Sanak karegi saari hadein paar!”
Also featuring Chandan Roy Sanyal, Neha Dhupia and Rukmini, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film, Sanak features Vidyut in the lead and traces his emotional journey along with some action-packed sequences.
The film marks the fifth collaboration between Vidyut and Vipul after Force and the Commando franchise. It is presented by Zee Studios in association with Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd, and went on floors in January this year. A release date for the film will be announced soon.
