Binge Or Cringe: Mirzapur –Another Mumbai Gang War Show?
This week, under the scanner is Amazon Prime’s Mirzapur and we give you our opinion on the show
After Inside Edge and Breathe, Amazon Prime Video is back with its third fiction Indian Original – Mirzapur. The series stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgoaonkar and Kulbhushan Kharbanda among others. The show t depicts the putrescence, governance and rule of mafia dons and the rivalry and crime prevailing in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
To talk of the performances, the cast seems to be in top form and no one seems out of place. Thumbs up for the action sequences too. Some of the scenes are not for the faint hearted. The writers –Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna – too deserve a special mention for making Mirzapur look convincing and keeping those unexpected twists and turns coming. And finally, the solid one liners which is the fuel for any gangster film! Lines like, Darr ki yahi dikkat hai, kabhi bhi khatam ho jata hai and risk hai will definitely stay with you!
