Extraction Review, Binge Or Cringe: Chris Hemsworth, Randeep Hooda Starrer Will Give You A Complete Adrenaline Rush
Netflix’s much awaited film Extraction is out now and it’s high on action, gritty and violent in right measures. A must watch for action film lovers
Netflix’s highly awaited action film, Extraction is streaming now on the platform and here’s a quick review on what worked and what didn’t work for the film.
Starring Chris Hemsworth in the lead, ‘Extraction’ is based on graphic novel Ciudad, by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando Leon Gonzalez, and Eric Skillman – though the location has been changed from that of the book – the film is now based in Dhaka and not the Paraguayan city of Ciudad Del Este!
Chris Hemsworth plays a mercenary named Tyler Rake. His mission is to extract Indian drug lord’s (played by Pankaj Tripathi) teenage son, who has been kidnapped by a rival Bangladeshi mobster.
As with any other Chris Hemsworth film, one would expect action in this one also to be great. Yes, the makers don’t disappoint you in that department but you cannot define ‘Extraction’ as an out-and-out action thriller – thanks to the numerous and hazy flashbacks, extended conversations and appearance of characters who don’t add any value to the ongoing plot.
Speaking of performances, Extraction also stars popular Bollywood faces like Randeep Hooda and Pankaj Tripathi. The 10 minute action sequence between Randeep and Chris is the highlight of the film. Pankaj who appears in just one scene seems wasted!
