According to astrologers, this time on Karwa Chauth, with Rohini Nakshatra, 70 years of Bal Markandeya Yog is being formed. This yog is very beneficial. Apart from observing fast, the tradition also consists of holding a Puja performed for Goddess Parvati. For the day, women apply Mehendi, narrate the tale of the Karwa Chauth. The fast will only be completed after the moon rises and their spouses make them drink or eat.
