World Breastfeeding Week: Significance, History, Importance- All You Need To Know
The first week of the month of August is celebrated as World Breastfeeding Week. The aim is to encourage women for breast feeding and also to improve the health of the children all around. Doctors always say that for child it is good to have mother's milk in the first few months. WHO also recommends mother milk within one hour of child birth. 

History: The world association of breastfeeding action was formed in 1991 to raise awareness about the health benefits. And to initiate this, one whole week was dedicated to the campaign. Almost in every country the week is celebrated. 

Importance: The breast milk is very nutritious for the child. The milk can protect the child from many infections and diseases. Breast feeding also reduces the risk of cancer and among the women. Mother milk is filled with all nutrients like iron, calcium which is important for the growth of the child.


Significance: To lay stress on the benefits of breastfeeding, many policies have been made. In many companies, paid maternity leave of three months are given, making work place more comfortable for the women to work. 

Motherhood is an important part of any women life. This is a nine months of journey which woman undergoes and gives birth to a new life.
