Addinath Kothare plays Dilip Vengsarkar in Ranveer-Deepika starrer film ‘83 by Kabir Khan
Known for an impeccable batting style, Dilip Vengsarkar aka 'Colonel' was a highly recognized batsman in the Coopers and Lybrand rating. Being a cricketer positioned at the number one slot for a period of 21 months in a row Dilip was the dreaded batsman of the Indian cricket team in the ‘83 Cup.
As Kabir Khan recreates the historic event of ‘83 World Cup victory on silver screen we will celebrate this moment given to us by Kapil Dev and his team of superstar players. Just like Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev, the role of ‘Colonel’ is played by Addinath Kothare. An ecstatic Addinath shared his character poster on Instagram.
Ranveer Singh on Tuesday introduced the eleventh and final player by sharing the character poster featuring Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar. Earlier, Ranveer had shared nine character posters besides that of Kapil Dev which is portrayed by him. Previous posts feature Hardy Sandhu, Nishant Dahiya, Dinker Sharma, Chirag Patil, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, and Sahil Khattar. Deepika Padukone plays the lead role opposite Ranveer. Kothare reposted the picture and also shared the look-alike post as with the prolific batsman.
Addinath is currently also shooting for his new project ‘Panchak’ with Madhuri Dixit. Recently, his directorial debut film ‘Paani’ produced by Priyanka Chopra, received the National Film Award.
