Umesh Kamat and Hruta Durgule the on-stage siblings have wreaked havoc of laughter across Maharashtra and India with the super-hit play ‘Dada Ek good News Ahe’. The duo is so adorable and loved by all that even after completing a year of the play, their shows go nearly house full.

Umesh Kamat is super excited about the fact that his wife’s theatre production, has completed a year and is still running successfully across theatres. Umesh shares a video in which he gives us a complete backstage tour. He introduces the cast and their characters, the crew who works on hair, make-up and stage set-up. He even taunts Hruta jokingly, on not being punctual in reporting on time. With all the backstage action, the fans are getting a closer look at what goes on when the curtains are shut.

‘Dada Ek Good News Ahe’ is the story about a guy who is going about his ordinary life, planning for making it big in his hot-shot career. Just when he thinks it is going all right, his little sister arrives at his doorstep, confused, alone, unmarried and pregnant! As the siblings are thrown into a rollercoaster of emotions, responsibility, tough choices, the play unravels a story about how they support each other and make it through hard times.

Priya Bapat, the producer has no qualms playing this role during the initial planning phase, but since the makers wanted a 10 years younger face than Umesh, Hruta was selected for the role. This play has garnered so much love from fans, for the lead actors, the story and the performances that the show must go on for many more such years!
