‘Ghadge And Suun’: Nostalgia Hits Sukanya Mone As The Iconic Serial Goes Off Air Today
Sukanya is grateful to her character ‘Mai’ for giving her so many memories for a lifetime
On 14 August 2017, the most heart touching contemporary family drama, that was loved a lot by Marathi audience started its journey by the title ‘Ghadge And Suun’.
This story was about an arranged marriage that was against the wishes of the new generation, and how they work their way out of it with the help of each other. It showed how a conventional family accepts their daughter-in-law and her modern thought process. It showed how the family gets united when there is an external threat that enters the house in the form of a new daughter in law. But mostly it is about the family system held together by Mai played by Sukanya Mone.
Sukanya Mone who has started her television career with ‘Lifeline’ in 1991, ‘Abhalmaya’, ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgathi’, ‘Ventilator’, ‘Aamras’ and many more were some of her iconic performances. Her presence in the story of ‘Ghadge And Suun’ added a lot of weightage to the serial. Sukanya who has a theatre presence brought a lot of emotional display on the small screen.
Today, ‘Ghadge And Suun’ airs for the last time, and the cast is having a hard time in saying their last good-bye. She posted a series of pictures on her Instagram from the set as she gets nostalgia from the days when the serial started screening first!
She writes, “आज घाडगे&सून चा माझा शेवटचा दिवस शूटिंगचा.. 'माई'...हिने मला खूप काही दिल, गेले अडीच वर्षे ती माझ्याबरोबर होती,रितिभाती, संस्कार,मान,प्रतिष्ठा हे सगळं तिने शिकवलं कमावून दिलं आणि मुख्य म्हणजे माझा मनुष्य संग्रह वाढला. जीवाला जीव देणारे मित्र मिळाले, सुखदुःख वाटून घेणाऱ्या मैत्रिणी मिळाल्या,खवय्ये भेटले,....खरंच एक मालिका संपली म्हणून ही जोडलेली नाती,ऋणानुबंध तुटतात का? रोज न भेटता ही आपुलकी,प्रेम, जिव्हाळा कायम राहतो,तशी ही माई ही कायम राहणार माझ्याबरोबर आणि ही नातीही. संपूर्ण घाडगे&सून संचाला खूप खूप प्रेम”.
Sukanya is grateful to ‘Mai’ for reconnecting her with her values, self-respect, relationships and much more. This serial gave her friends like family, she unleashed her foodie side, her fun side and made bonds that will last a lifetime.
