Chhagan Chougule Passes Away: Popular Folk Artist Succumbed To Death Fighting COVID-19
Chhagan Chougule, a popular folk artist from Maharashtra, who have us legendary folk songs like Katha Changudanchi, Katha Sharavan Badachi, Aaiche Kalij, and Katha Devtari Badumamam, passed away today. The artist was fighting with Coronavirus and was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital. Chougule died earlier today on 21st May 2020.

Chhagan’s prominent work was the iconic Navri Natali song that became a very famous Marathi folk song. Despite receiving no training for folk singing, Chougule was among the finest singers. From Jagran Gondhal to performing live shows, Chhagan rose to fame. Chhagan sang songs with religious as well as folk stories. He was also awarded the Lavani Gaurav Award in 2018.

Marathi industry has faced terrible losses in the last few days. After Ratnakar Matkari passed away after battling COVID-19 early this week, the industry was already shaken. Now that the artist Chhagan Chougule too faced the same fate, the industry is grieving the great loss.
