Kajol, Shruti Hassan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashaswini Dayama starrer short film Devi saw its official launch this week. Neena Kulkarni shared a glimpse of the starry night! 

Devi is produced by Electric Apples Entertainment for Large Short Films. It narrates a story of nine oppressed women, from different strata of society, living together sharing their lives, their pain, their struggles and a fuming intolerance towards the society that tolerates abuse on women. A powerful cast, a gripping storyline and great direction assure you will be taken on a short yet thought-provoking journey. 


Kajol, plays one of the primary characters in the plot. She opens the doors for sheltering women who have faced abuse and have no place to go. The women already are living in substandard conditions and are struggling to make ends meet. They are frustrated when one more person wants to join their shelter. The stop fighting the minute they see the victim. Once again they are united by the disgrace they feel for the monstrosity of mankind. Who is this victim? Watch the short film to find out. 

This film is Kajol and Shruti Hasan’s debut in short films. Talented Marathi actresses like Mukta Barve, Neena Kulkarni, and Rama Joshi who have previously worked on films portraying strong female characters in Bandishala, Uttarayan and Dowry respectively. The audience can expect a fine performance by the actresses and a great narrative in this upcoming film.
