Ashutosh Gowariker is in the news again but all for the bad reasons. Right after the trailer release of the film ‘Panipat’, Gowariker started getting threats from different groups possibly for manipulating historical events and characters. The organization also raised questions on some scenes of the film. Around 200 policemen have been deployed for the director’s protection.  However, Ashutosh
Gowarikar clarified the facts regarding the period dram ‘Panipat’and said that things are in control now.

Panipat is an upcoming historical war film based on the Third Battle of Panipat which is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar.  The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The film will also see Mohnish Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure and Zeenat Aman essaying important characters. The film will hit the theaters on 6 December 2019.

Born in a Marathi family, Ashutosh Gowariker began his career as an actor in Ketan Mehta's movie ‘Holi’ in 1984. After that he acted in TV serials like Circus, C.I.D and also in many films including Naam, Chamatkar and Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Ashutosh Gowariker debuted as a director with the film Pehla Nasha in 1993. Some of his works include Lagaan, Swades, Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro. Gowariker returned as an actor in the Marathi comedy-drama Ventilator in 2016. He played the lead role in the movie.
