Irrfan Khan Passes Away: 'You Fought Hard' Marathi Celebrities Pay Respect To Angrezi Medium Star Upon His Sad Demise At 53
The ever-so-talented Irrfan Khan, one of the most versatile and respected actors of Hindi cinema, has passed away in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Ambani Hospital today at the age of 53. The actor who gave Bollywood Hindi Medium, Piku, 7 Khoon Maaf, Paan Singh Tomar, Gunday, Maqbool, and many more, left the industry now only with his fond memory now.

Many Marathi stars came forward to pay respects to the actor and the high benchmarks he left behind in the world of cinema.

Shriya Pilgaonkar shared a still from his remarkable film, The Namesake. She writes, “This is heartbreaking. Thank you Irrfan Sir, you fought hard. We have much to learn from you”.

Gashmeer Mahajani writes, “Nobody could ever match up to you and nobody ever will. Not in India. Not around the world! RIP”.  He calls him the God of all actors!

Director Prasad Oak, actress, and dancer Sukhada Khandkekar, Timepass fame Prathamesh Parab and director Ravi Jadhav, actress Sonali Kulkarni, actor Siddharth Jadhav, superstar Swwapnil Joshi, and nearly every Marathi celebrity rose to pay respects on social media.

Just like the actor’s famous dialogue, “Chaal hum chalenge, shay bhi hum denge aur maat bhi hum denge”, he fought hard for over a year with the rare neuroendocrine tumor. He defeated the tumor and came back but he succumbed to a colon infection earlier today.

Marathi industry bows to his spirit and salutes his ferocity both as an actor and a human being.
