Ashalata Wabgaonkar Passes Away: Actress Alka Kubal Performed The Last Rites Of Late Actress
Actress Alka Kubal performed the last rites of late actress Ashalata Wabgaonkar, fulfilling her last wish.
This year the Indian film industry has lost many great actors due to pandemic. One of the greatest loss was the death of veteran actress Ashalata Wabgaonkar. The actress was shooting for Marathi TV show Aai Majhi Kalubai recently. More than 20 cast members of the show including Ashalata had been tested positive for Covid-19. Everyone was quarantined but no one felt severe effects except actress Ashalata. She was hospitalized for over a week and was showing signs of recovery before her sad demise but she ultimately succumbed to the virus.
During her last days in the hospital, actress Alka Kubal was with her. She also tried to take care of her, by looking after her in the hospital. Ashalata’s family wasn’t able to visit and perform her last rites because of the pandemic. Thus, actress Alka Kubal with her husband performed her last rites at Satara. She said it was her last wish that Alka should perform her last rites.
Alka has worked with Ashalata in many films. Their film Maherchi Sadi in which Ashalata played the role of Alka’s mother, is still one of the best Marathi movies. Alka considered her as her mother. Thus, the loss of the person so close to her heart has brought great sorrow to her.
