As promised, we are back with another live chat session. And this time it’s special as we are joined by the SpotboyE Salaam Winner For Best Singer (Female), Jonita Gandhi. She bagged the award for her song Gilehriyan from Dangal.
Jonita Gandhi has an elaborate history before she stepped into the world of Bollywood. Jonita started posting videos in collaboration with Aakash Gandhi and they went viral on internet. She has big hits on YouTube for covers of songs Someone Like You, Pani Da Rang, Tujhko Jo Paaya, Tum Hi Ho, Suhaani Raat, Yeh Honsla, and many others.
Jonita, who has formal training in Western classical music and Hindustani classical singing, has also performed live at concerts with Sonu Nigam in various countries including Russia, UK, US and the Caribbean. After that, she decided to try her fortune in India. She started her career in the Bollywood music with Vishal Shekhar in Chennai Express starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
She has also sung in movies like Highway starring Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt and has featured in AR Rahman's album Raunaq as well. Her association with Rahman continued as she lent her voice in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film OK Kanmani.
