Much to everyone’s shock and dismay, Bollywood’s music industry lost a gem today with the passing away of music composer Wajid Khan of the duo Sajid-Wajid. The famous music composer died at a Mumbai hospital, at the age of 42. It is reported that Khan was combating against some kidney-related issues after which he was put on a ventilator for the past couple of days. As the music composer and singer has managed to entertain us with his hit songs, take a look at some of his most popular music compositions including songs like Mashallah, Pandey Jee Seethi and others.
The music composer duo Sajid-Wajid marked their Bollywood debut though Salman Khan’s 1998 film Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Soon later, in 1999, Wajid Khan gave his music to Sonu Nigam’s album Deewana, the songs of which include Deewana Tera, Ab Mujh Raat Din Aur Kadar Pyaar Hai from the ones that went on to become hits. Wajid Khan then went on to compose many albums for Salman Khan’s films including some movies like Chori Chori, Hello Brother, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Partner, Wanted and Dabangg franchise. Mashallah from the film Ek Tha Tiger- The Kabir Khan film starred Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles. the song Mashallah was sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Sajid–Wajid, and Wajid Ali.
Song Pandey Jee Seeti from the film Dabangg 2- The film stars Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in pivotal roles and the music of the film was composed by Sajid-Wajid.
Pyaar Karona- Sung by Salman Khan, the music of the song Pyaar Karona was composed by Sajid-Wajid. It was with this song that Salman Khan marked his debut on YouTube.
Meanwhile, music composer Wajid Khan was the son of a famous tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan. It was most recently when Sajid-Wajid composed the Salman Khan songs Bhai Bhai and Pyaar Karona that launched on Salman’s YouTube channel.
