Amid rising tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, singer Mika Singh has fiercely criticized Diljit Dosanjh’s continued promotion of his film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The movie was filmed prior to the April 22 attack, but Diljit’s latest promotional efforts—including sharing the trailer—sparked fierce online backlash due to the sensitive political environment.
Taking to Instagram under the heading “Desh Pehle (Nation First),” Mika asserted: “Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly.” He warned that anyone engaging cross‑border content “should think twice—especially when our nation’s dignity is involved”.
He further highlighted a previous instance, referencing the shelved film Abir Gulaal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. Mika remarked on the apparent disregard for the lesson learned from that project. He added: “What’s more shocking is that a fake singer, after doing 10 shows in India with thousands of fans buying tickets, has now disappeared—leaving fans betrayed and helpless”. Although he didn’t name Diljit directly in his post, the inclusion of Diljit’s photo made the target unmistakable.

In response, the Sardaar Ji 3 team issued a statement clarifying that the film was completed well before the terror incident, and emphasizing their solidarity with India. They also announced there would be no domestic release or promotional activity until the situation permits.
Diljit Dosanjh has clarified in a BBC Asian Network interview that the film wrapped in February—before tensions escalated—and that continuing with an overseas release was a financial decision taken by producers, not a political statement.
Sardaar Ji 3—a horror‑comedy directed by Amar Hundal and co‑produced by Diljit, Gunbir Singh Sidhu, and Manmord Sidhu—stars Hania Aamir, Neeru Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, and Gulshan Grover. It is slated for an overseas release on June 27 and will not be screened in India .
