Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case, alongside his close friend, actress Pavithra Gowda. The police later confirmed that both Darshan and Pavithra's fingerprints were found on Renuka Swamy's body, as well as on various objects at the crime scene. This crucial piece of evidence was collected from multiple locations, including the shed where the murder occurred, the security guard's room where the body was temporarily kept, the vehicle used for transportation, the site where the body was dumped, the victim's clothes, and the weapons used in the attack. According to a report from the Hindustan Times, the preliminary forensic analysis confirmed that the fingerprints matched those of Darshan and Pavithra. The officer in charge of the investigation stated, "The fingerprints on the accused’s clothing were also analysed. The preliminary forensic report has confirmed that the fingerprints match those of the accused. This evidence will bolster the prosecution’s case in the upcoming trial." The evidence significantly strengthens the prosecution's case against the accused in the forthcoming trial. Furthermore, the investigation uncovered that the SIM cards used by Darshan, Pavithra, and other suspects in the murder were registered under different individuals' names. This discovery was made when the police tracked the call and message details through duplicate SIM cards. Specifically, Gowda was using a number registered under the name of a Bengaluru resident named Manoj, while Darshan's number was registered under CP Hemanth's name.




Renuka Swamy, a devoted fan of Darshan Thoogudeepa, was brutally murdered on June 8, 2024, at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. The motive behind the murder was allegedly linked to Renuka sending derogatory comments to Pavithra Gowda, who is purportedly Darshan's girlfriend. This connection added a layer of complexity to the case, drawing significant media attention.




The case has stirred considerable controversy and public interest, with fans and the general public closely following the developments.
