Karnataka Court Asks Sruthi Hariharan To Provide EVIDENCE Against Arjun Sarja In Her 2018 MeToo Case- Read REPORTS
Kannada actress Sruthi Hariharan had made waves in the Sandalwood industry in October 2018. She had written a four-page letter on her official social media handle alleging that she had gone through sexual misconduct and indecent behaviour by her Vismaya co-star Arjun Sarja. She had gone on to even file a complaint against him. The entire ordeal took place at the height of the MeToo movement. Now, a recent development states that the Karnataka court has asked her to provide evidence of the event.

As it is being reported by DNA, the Cubbon Park police in Bengaluru, who were responsible for the investigation on the matter, filed a closure report citing lack of evidence in court. She recently challenged the closure report submitted by the Karnataka police. As she objected to the closure of the case in court, on Friday, she was asked to provide evidence regarding her allegations by the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court in Bengaluru.

Talking about the open letter she had posted on social media, she had alleged that Sarja had forcefully hugged her and ran his hands up and down her back under the pretext of rehearsing for the scene. She added, “ His intent seemed anything but professional. I hated that he did it and was angry that I didn't know what to say then.”

Sruthi claimed that the incident had happened in front of 50 other people. She had also mentioned, “Sarja needs to make sure how he doesn't cross the thin line between two actors and use his position of power to cause another person discomfort.”

After Srithi had filed a police complaint against Sarja, he had outright denied her claims and went on to file a defamation case of Rs 5 crore against her in the same year.
