Malayalam Director Siddique Passes Away Due To A Heart Attack At The Age Of 63; Celebrities Pay Their Condolences
Renowned Malayalam film director and screenplay writer Siddique left for his heavenly abode at the age of 63. He breathed his last on Tuesday at a private hospital in Kochi after suffering a heart attack. According to a report by News18, he was hospitalised at the Amrita Hospital in Kochi, last month, where he was being treated for a liver-related ailments and pneumonia. 

He suffered cardiac arrest on Monday afternoon, after which he was put on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support. Siddique passed away on Tuesday night, despite all the efforts. The media publication further reports that his mortal remains will be placed at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kadavanthra for people to visit and pay their last respects. His funeral will be held on Wednesday afternoon.

Many noted celebrities from the entertainment industry took to their social media handle to express their shock and condole the filmmaker’s sudden passing. Dulquer Salmaan wrote, “The gentlest soul. The kindest human. A gifted writer/director. The most incredible humor hiding behind his soft demeanour. He gave us some of the most iconic films. Part of our pop culture and referred to in our everyday conversations. This is an immeasurable loss. Prayers and strength to Siddique Sirs family and loved ones.”

For the unversed, Siddique made a name for himself in the entertainment industry not just by directing projects but also acting in it. He has been a part of many hit projects like Thenkasipattanam, Thommanum Makkalum, Ramji Rao Speaking, Godfather, Chronic Bachelor, Bodyguard and many more. His last directorial venture was 2020’s action-thriller Big Brother. The film starred Mohanlal, Arbaaz Khan, Anoop Menon and Honey Rose in pivotal roles.
