Pradeep Kottayam Passes Away At 61 Due To Heart Attack; Prithviraj Sukumaran Mourns His Loss
Thursday began on a sad note for Malayali fans as popular and legendary Malayalam actor Pradeep KR, fondly known as Kottayam Pradeep passed away after suffering a heart attack. Around 4:15 in the morning, the actor breathed his last. Pradeep KR was 61. He is now survived by his wife Maya and two children. His sudden demise has left everyone shocked.

Prithviraj Sukumaran took to Twitter to pay his last respects to the late actor. He shared the picture of Pradeep KR and wrote, ‘Rest in peace! #KottayamPradeep."



Indian politician and Minister of Kerala government K Ranjan also took to his Twitter handle and paid condolences on the demise of the actor. Ranjan wrote,“Condolences on the demise of Sri Kottayam Pradeep. He was an artist who created comedy for Malayalam film lovers. Sri Kottayam Pradeep was a comedian who gained a place in the minds of Malayalee's through his different styles of dialogue. Pay tribute to him”


Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also paid condolences to Pradeep’s demise and said even in very small roles, he created his own space in the industry.


Pradeep’s KR career as an actor began in 2001 at the age of 40. He played several roles but was mostly known for his comedy roles in Malayalam and Tamil films. His most-noted character is from the movie ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’, where he played Trisha Krishnan’s uncle. During his early days, he worked as a junior artist and later got recognition for his humorous roles. He acted in over 70 movies
