Veteran Malayalam Photographer And Filmmaker Sivan Passes Away At 89 Due To Cardiac Arrest
The veteran photographer and cinematographer, Sivan has passed away due to a Cardiac Arrest on Thursday, 24th June, morning. The national award-winning cinematographer and director took his last breath at his home in  Thiruvananthapuram at the age of 89.

He started the 'Sivan Studios' at Thiruvananthapuram Statue junction in 1959 and rose to fame for his work in the film titled Chemeen. He brought popular and inspiring movies like Abhayam, Yagam, Kochu Kochu Mohangal, Kilivathil, Keshu, Oru Yathra to the Malayalam industry and made everyone proud and respect him by winning the national award three times.

Sivan's death has left the Malayalam industry in shambles and everyone is mourning his name. His sons, Santosh Sivan, Sangeeth Sivan, and Sanjeev Sivan are among the biggest celebrities in the film industry right now. The sudden loss of their father has left them in shock.



One of his sons, Sangeeth Sivan took to his Twitter and wrote a heart-wrenching note for his father. He shared an old picture of Sivan and wrote, "Thank you Dad for everything! Difficult to imagine a world without you but we will continue to trudge the path you have paved for us, safe in the knowledge that you would be guiding us from your place in the clouds & stars. Forever indebted."

Sivan was the first government press photographer in Travancore and worked his way up by himself and became one of the best and most respected cinematographers and directors in the Malayalam film industry.
