Rana Daggubatti Welcomes Priyanka Chopra To The Mumbai Film Festival Board of Trustees
It was the other feather in the cap of the gorgeous and talented actor turned producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas as she was announced as the chairperson of Jio MAMI Film Festival, almost four months after Deepika Padukone stepped down from the position.

The popular actor of Indian Cinema Rana Daggubatti is very active on social media. Recently, he shared news about the appointment of Priyanka Chopra as the new chairperson of Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival who replaces Deepika Padukone.  Rana Daggubatti captioned the post – “A new chapter begins. Thrilled to welcome @priyankachopra, @AnjaliMenonFilm, and shividungarpur to the @MumbaiFilmFest Board of Trustees. We are stepping up and stepping out with hope. We are now OPEN. #JioMAMIMumbaiFilmFestival”. 


Board of Trustee MAMI, Isha Ambani also welcomes the new chairperson and says  "Now more than ever, we need to nurture the power of cinema and art to heal and help humanity move forward. I look forward to my dear friend Priyanka Chopra Jonas joining our team and leading the way for Jio MAMI to reach new heights. She is a multifaceted global artist and a force of nature; we are privileged to have her on board,"

As per the official statement from Jio MAMI 2.0, they will focus on creating more awards and grants for Indian films and filmmakers and letting go of the International Competition section.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Rana Daggubatti will appear in Telugu Movie “Bheemla Nayak” alongside Pawan Kalyan. The movie is directed by Saagar K Chandra, reportedly, “Bheemla Nayak” is an official remake of a Malayalam movie titled “Ayyappanum Koshiyum", in which Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran will appear, and the movie is bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner Sithara Entertainments.
