In the most recent development, the veteran actor has become embroiled in a controversy after discarding a shawl presented by an elderly fan in apparent disdain. A video capturing Sivakumar's actions swiftly circulated on social media, leading fans to criticize the actor for his perceived arrogance. Many expressed disapproval, arguing that, despite the actor possibly being pressed for time, it was inappropriate to dispose of a gift given with heartfelt affection by a fan.
Coincidentally, Sivakumar is no stranger to controversy, as this is not the initial instance where he has found himself in a contentious situation. Back in 2018, the actor gained attention for swatting away a fan's phone attempting to capture a selfie with him. Much like the current incident, a video of the episode spread rapidly on social media, prompting fans to condemn the actor for his behaviour.

Subsequently, the actor issued a public apology and went a step further by replacing the fan's damaged phone. Sivakumar took the opportunity to articulate his perspective, asserting that it is a fundamental courtesy to seek permission from any individual, including celebrities, before snapping selfies with them. He emphasized the importance of not taking celebrities for granted or treating them as public property. He concluded by underscoring the significance of granting celebrities their due privacy and respect.
