Tamil Actress Meera Mithun Hurls Casteist Slurs On Scheduled Caste Communities, Actress Booked Under Prevention Of Atrocities Act

As per the reports, the FIR was lodged following a complaint by a political party called Viduthalai Chiruthagai Katchi (VCK) that supports the Dalit society and is led by a Member of Parliament called Thol Thirumavalavan. She said “The members of the SC community face trouble mostly because they are indulged in illegal activities and crime. No one will unnecessarily speak ill of someone without a reason,”
The Chennai Cyber Crime police also inform that that have already taken action against actor Meera Mithun and booked fewer than seven provisions of the Indian Penal Code sections including (153, 153 A(1) (a), 505 (1) (b) of the IPC and other sections of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
When she took part in a talk show, the actor answered a question and said that normally she does not talk about Scheduled Caste (SC) people but proved ironic.
As per the complainant, she has been alleged of blaming that movie director from the Scheduled Castes community for all the wrongs and ills in the movie industry. Meera said, “I think it’s time to chuck out all the scheduled caste people, directors from the industry”. The complaint further alleged that she had also asked as to why others in the Tamil movie industry were supporting these directors from the SC community, that’s a completely offensive statement.
Reportedly, The Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication front is a co-complainant in the petition against her.
