Popular Tamil actress Yashika Aannand reportedly is in a critical state after meeting with a car accident on Saturday night on East Coast Road near Mahabalipuram. According to a report in The Times Of India, the car Yashika was travelling by went out of control and hit the median, injuring the occupants. The accident is said to have happened around midnight on Saturday.
Photos of the damaged vehicle have been doing the rounds on social media. Police officials are reportedly suspecting drunk driving but are waiting for doctors' reports before filing charges.
Yashika's friend Valli Chetty Bhavani, who was traveling with her, died on the spot. As per reports, there were three people in the car when it met with an accident.
Yashika earlier hit the headlines when she identified herself as a victim during the MeToo campaign in India in 2018. She alleged that a director had tried to abuse her by asking for sexual favors.
Twenty one-year-old Yashika made her Tamil movie debut with Vijay Deverakonda's NOTA. She was seen in a supporting role in the film. She is currently working on five Tamil projects. The actress also has been a part of the second season of the popular television show Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan. She finished in the fifth place.
