Tamil Television Actor Lokesh Rajendran Dies By Suicide At Age Of 34, ‘He Was Addicted To Alcohol’ Says Police

Tamil television actor Lokesh Rajendran was addicted to alcohol as he faced family issues and as per the latest reports he committed suicide at the age of 34

Tamil Television Actor Lokesh Rajendran Dies By Suicide At Age Of 34,  ‘He Was Addicted To Alcohol’ Says Police
Tamil television actor Lokesh Rajendran who is best known as a child artist in the TV serial ‘Marmadesam’ passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, by committing suicide. He was 34. As per the police, he was addicted to alcohol as he had family issues. He was often found sleeping at the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT). 

A police official was quoted saying to Indian Express, “On Monday, passers-by at the bus terminus noticed he was in discomfort. Some among them dialed 108 for an ambulance and also alerted the police. He was taken to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. He passed away on Tuesday night.” The police have registered case under Section 174 of the CrPC.

The late actor is survived by a wife and two children. His father was quoted saying, “A month ago, I came to know there was some misunderstanding between them (Lokesh and his wife). A legal notice for divorce came from his wife four days ago. He was depressed. I last saw him (Lokesh) Friday, he said he needed some money and I gave it to him. He had told us he would start work as an editor.”

For the unversed, Lokesh Rajendran has appeared in more than 150 television serials. He has been part of 15 films with top Tamil actors like Vijayakanth, Prabhu, and others. He played the character ‘Raasu’ in Vidaathu Karuppu, the second season of the mystery anthology ‘Marmadesam’. This mystery anthology had five seasons, which aired from 1996 to 2001 on Sun TV and Raj TV. 

Meanwhile, the whole cast of Vidaathu Karuppu recently met to celebrate the twenty-five years of their television serial.
