Digital streaming platform Sony Liv, which is all set for its foray into Tamil, has publicly disclosed its first release will be Tamil drama “Thaen”, a story that depicts the ferocious realities of the society. The film’s story depicts the journey of a young, rural, and uneducated beekeeper that battles insurmountable challenges to save his wife from some rare disease.

As per the reports, the movie is in Tamil but will also be available for viewing in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. Reports about the release of “Thaen” on Sony Liv, Ashish Golwalkar, head - content, SET, and digital business, informed a digital portal that: “ ’Thaen’ is a carefully crafted tale that delves into a subject rarely talked about in cinema. Through these gripping and informative stories of India with real-life relevance, our goal is to resonate with the audience and showcase content which has the power to shift perceptions.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, SJ Suryah will feature in “Bommai”. Director Radha Mohan’s “Bommai” will feature SJ Suryah and Priya Bhavani Shankar in pivotal roles. He will also feature as the antagonist against Silambarasan in the political thriller drama “Maanadu”, where he can appear as a cop.
