Superstar Rajinikanth turned a year older and he celebrated his 73rd birthday on December 12. On this special occasion, the fan offered a special pooja to the idol and performed all the necessary rituals at the temple that was erected for the superstar in Madurai's Thirumangalam a few months ago.
As the actor turned 73, Kamal Haasan wished his ‘dear friend’ on his birthday. His former son-in-law Dhanush, Jr NTR, Mohanlal and several others conveyed their wishes on social media.
Interestingly, Rajinikanth's ardent fan Karthik, took his admiration to the next level as he performed the special pooja at the temple he erected in Madurai. He performed pooja for the Rajinikanth idol and revealed that the temple work is 70 per cent complete.

The fan even built a statue of Rajinikanth weighing 250 kilograms. He has been performing pooja every day for the past four months. To mark the superstar’s birthday, a special pooja was held and Karthik even took part in welfare activities by donating food to children and the needy.
In the video, he expressed his wish to build a huge temple in a place that he owns. The idol is now at a rented place in Madurai. He also prayed for Rajinikanth's entire family.
Earlier this year, Superstar Rajinikanth tasted success with director Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Jailer'. His upcoming release is daughter Aishwarya's 'Lal Salaam', in which he plays an extended cameo. 'Lal Salaam' will release in theatres during Pongal 2024.
The actor will also be seen in director TJ Gnanavel's 'Vettaiyan'. He also signed 'Thalaivar 171' with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
