Suriya Sivakumar’s latest release ‘Jai Bhim’ received praise from the audience and critics alike. TJ Gnanavel’s directorial, which is inspired by true events of the tribal community, has achieved another milestone. The movie has become the first Tamil as well as Indian film to be featured on the Youtube channel of the Academy Awards-the world’s most prestigious film awards. Yes, you read that right! A scene from Jai Bhim along with the director's story narrative has been featured on the official YouTube channel of the Oscars.

And, it is indeed a huge achievement. Notably, Suriya starrer is the first Tamil film to have received a prestigious honour from the Oscars. To celebrate this, #JaiBhim has been trending on Twitter with fans and netizens feeling super proud. Earlier in November 2021, Jai Bhim had made an official entry to the Golden Globes 2022 as a nomination under the category of 'Best Non-English Language Film south. Also starring, Lijomol Jose and Manikandan, the movie narrated the story of a pregnant wife who seeks help from an advocate after her husband goes missing in Police custody. ‘Jai Bhim’, which landed in many controversies, was premiered on Amazon Prime Video on November 2, 2021.
