Agent Producer Anil Sunkara  Apologises For Failure Of Akhil Akkineni Film; Says ‘We Did A Blunder Starting The Project Without Script’
Akhil Akkineni's recent release ‘Agent’ has badly tanked at the box office. Directed by Surender Reddy, the Telugu drama, which starred Mammootty, Dino Morea and Sakshi Vaidya, collected just Rs 7 crore on its opening day. The producer of the film Anil Sunkara has taken the blame for the film’s failure and apologizes to all those who put their trust in them. Anil admitted they did a blunder by starting the project without a bound script.

Anil Sunkara took to his Twitter handle to release a statement that read, “We have to take the entire blame for #Agent. Though we know its an uphill task, we thought of conquering but failed to do so as we did a blunder starting the project without a bound script & innumerable issues including covid followed. We don't want to give any excuses but learn from this costly mistake and see how we can turn around to make sure, we will never repeat the mistakes. Our sincere apologies to all those who put trust on us. We will make it up for the losses with dedicated planning & hardwork in our future projects.”



Earlier, Akhil's mother, actor Amala Akkineni opened up about his son getting trolled for the failure of the film. She admitted the film has its flaws but suggested people to watch it with an open mind. She expressed her hope that Akhil’s next offering will be bigger and better.

On a related note, ‘Agent’ featured Urvashi Rautela in a special song and depicted the story of a spy who goes on a mission to uncover the truth about a dangerous terrorist organization. The film was released on 28th April 2023.
