Kannada Actor Chetan Kumar ARRESTED After His Controversial Tweet On Hindutva Goes Viral; Bajrangi Dal Accuses Him Of Hurting Hindu Sentiments
Popular Kannada actor Chetan Kumar, widely known as Chetan Ahimsa, has been arrested by Seshadripuram police due to his tweet on Hindutva. As per reports, Shivakumar of Bajrangi Dal filed a case against Chetan alleging he hurt the sentiments of Hindus through his controversial post. The actor's tweet stating that “Hindutva is built on lies” has miffed the Hindu community as they have demanded strict against Kumar. Chetan Kumar has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

The Kannada star had tweeted, “Hindutva is built on LIES. Savarkar: Indian ‘nation’ began when Rama defeated Ravana & returned to Ayodhya —> a lie 1992: Babri Masjid is ‘birthplace of Rama’ —> a lie 2023: Urigowda-Nanjegowda are ‘killers’ of Tipu—> a lie Hindutva can be defeated by TRUTH—> truth is EQUALITY.” In no time, his tweet went viral with several netizens slamming the actor. Amongst many who got angry were members of Bajrangi Dal. Chetan Kumar reportedly has been arrested on the charges of insulting a religion. This is not the first that Chetan got arrested due to an objectionable tweet.

In February last year, he was put behind the bars for tweeting against Karnataka High Court Justice Krishna Dixit, who was hearing the hijab case at the time. He was released on bail later.

In October, Chetan again made headlines after he was booked for claiming that ‘Bhoota Kola’, which was shown in the film Kantara, was not part of a Hindu custom.
