Pan-Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu became a household name after her stint in Family Man 2. While she got divorced from Naga Chaitanya, she went on to achieve big in her profession. From becoming the leading lady of many upcoming movies, to announcing her OTT debut with Citadel, fans have been lauding the actress for her determination. However, she had to face yet another setback when she was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease Myositis in 2022.

While she has been taking it slow and steady, she often keeps her fans updated on the postponed schedules of her upcoming projects. Now during an interaction with Bollywood Bubble she opened up about how the disease has been affecting her work life. Being a celebrity has never been easy, as they have to maintain a perfect image of themselves in the public eye. Ever since her diagnosis, however, she doesn’t have any control over her looks. The 35-year-old actress went on to explain how at times, she will be puffy, sometimes fat, sometimes sick. She went on to tell the media publication that she has become sensitive to light, which is why she has to wear glasses. Samantha also has to go through intense migraines and that her eyes have been swelling up with pain for the past 8 months. On the work front, Samantha will be seen in the mythological drama Shakuntalam, which focuses on the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra, the first abandoned child in human history, Shakuntala, her fight for her love King Dushyanta and the repercussions she faces because of the same. She also has Citadel co-starring Varun Dhawan, Kushi alongside Vijay Deverkonda and Arrangements Of Love in her pipeline.
