As everyone is locked indoors due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, Doordarshan gave us a reason to relive some iconic shows that once upon a time used to rule the Television industry. Just yesterday, Doordarshan announced to re-run mythological shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat, amidst coronavirus crisis. Now we got to know that they are all set to re-telecast the iconic detective show Byomkesh Bakshi in the 21-day lockdown period.
Byomkesh Bakshi (1993-1997) is one of the most famous crime-thrillers in the world of Indian television. It starred Rajit Kapoor as the famous detective and the show aired on Doordarshan. While sharing a few stills from the show, the channel captioned it as, “MUST WATCH - #RajitKapur in a role with which he will be associated forever! Detective show #ByomkeshBakshi from 28th March at 11 am only on @DDNational”
Earlier, for the re-run of Ramayan, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar took to his Twitter handle and announced the re-telecast of the show, “Happy to announce that on public demand, we are starting retelecast of 'Ramayana' from tomorrow, Saturday March 28 in DD National, One episode in morning 9 am to 10 am, another in the evening 9 pm to 10 pm. @narendramodi @PIBIndia @DDNational”
