Ashneer Grover Reveals Bigg Boss Wants Him As ‘Wildcard Entry’: ‘Haha, Pooch Lo Salman Bhai Se!’
Ashneer Grover—currently serving as host of Rise and Fall—recently revealed that the makers of Bigg Boss 19 extended an offer for him to enter the show as a wildcard contestant. He shared a screenshot of the email he reportedly received from the show’s team. Although its authenticity has not been independently confirmed, the message was addressed to him and allegedly sent by the Senior Casting Coordinator for Bigg Boss 19.
Taking a playful dig at Salman Khan, the show’s host, Ashneer commented, “Haha! Salman bhai se pooch le!! Mai to free ho jaaunga tab tak.” He also quipped, “Yeh ‘mail merge’ kisi ki to naukri khayega,” referencing the email-merge technique used to send personalized mails. On his official X account, Ashneer captioned the screenshot with: “Itni bhauklahat – kuchh zyaada hi competition de diya Rise & Fall ne lagta hai! Is bechaare casting director ki to khair nahi aaj.” He later deleted the post.
The email itself complimented Ashneer’s “dynamic personality, engaging social media presence, and unique appeal,” describing him as “a strong candidate” for the show.
This isn’t the first instance of public tension between Ashneer and Salman. Their clash originates from an earlier instance when Ashneer claimed he was denied a photograph opportunity with Salman during a brand shoot—allegedly because Salman’s management refused. Ashneer had also appeared on a Bigg Boss 18 episode during Weekend Ka Vaar, when Salman reprimanded him over comments about the show and its host pay. In turn, Ashneer later posted a note that said:

More recently, in an interview, Ashneer appeared to critique Salman’s hosting style:
“Reality shows have to be about contestants. … in India, we’ve had a very big show with a very big superstar. It’s become more about him than the contestants. Who’s putting in the hours? Bhai, aap to ek weekend mein aa rahe ho.”
