Actor Avinash Mishra recently bagged the lead role of Dev in Star Bharat’s newly launched Durga. This young and dynamic actor has taken up a challenge to play the role of a mentally challenged boy and was inspired by the movie Barfi which was the reason he said yes to the character at the blink of an eye.
Star Bharat’s upcoming show Durga revolves around a simple village girl named Durga who is an ardent devotee of Mata Rani, who marries the young and helpless man Dev. In this journey, she believes that in order to protect Dev from evil, goddess has chosen her for this task. The interesting narrative of the show presents how Durga, who is tested and troubled time and again, helps Dev to tackle all his problems with the divine help of Sherawali Maa. When asked about his preparations and inspirations he shared, “This is the first time I will be seen playing the role of a mentally challenged boy, which is a challenge in itself. I did my bit of homework and research where I watched a lot of movies and read a lot about specially abled people.
