TV actor Paras Chhabra became the first one to get the ticket to finale for Bigg Boss 13. Along with his flamboyant image, his dressing sense has been another highlight for the viewers. Yesterday, when Kaanta Laga girl Shefali Jariwala marked an entry on the show as a wild card, she too pointed out his fashion sense and said he needs a style makeover. For those unaware, apart from Paras Chhabra's stylist, it's his girlfriend Akanksha Puri who is also looking into his wardrobe. So, we decided to speak to her on these negative comments and the actress had some major revelations.
Shefali Jariwala, a wild card entry on Bigg Boss 13 criticised Paras Chhabra’s dressing sense…
Yes, I noticed it in last night’s episode. But I don't know why Shefali didn't like him as Paras is quite fond of her and her husband Parag Tyagi. The two were recently working on the same show Aghori and he really treats him like a big brother. He even used to address Shefali as his bhabhi. I am sure he will be very happy to see her inside.
Shefali feels Paras needs a fashion makeover. What do you have to say?
I’m quite okay with her comments as everyone is entitled to their own choices and opinions. Probably, I may also not choose to wear such loud colours. But he carries it really well and the best part is he is the only contestant whose clothes are trending so much. In fact every person who is entering the house is relating him to Ranveer Singh and I’m loving it.
So, are you actually trying to make him look like Ranveer Singh?
Paras is quite fond of Ranveer. So yes, it’s true that we are following Ranveer Singh because I feel the confidence which Ranveer possesses for his clothes, Paras too has it. So it’s not like we are trying to copy anyone. But the whole idea is to make him stand out and look good.
What exactly are you doing to make him stand out from the rest in terms of his clothing style?
By now, we have set a standard so I really don't want that to drop. I am putting so much effort to make him look outstanding. I watch his episodes and when he uses some interesting lines, I try and make it into a caption and get it printed on his t-shirt. All his clothes are customised. Like recently, he was seen saying, "Yahan pe task karo kaand nahi". I also made another caption on his friend Mahira who keeps using this word 'Masla' and it became 'Main hoon sabki favourite to usme kya masla hai'. So there is a lot of observation and hard work that goes behind it. You cannot just blatantly copy.
Are you single-handedly doing all of this?
We source these clothes from our designers and I also have a stylist called Hetvi Prakash Gindra who is helping me throughout. I suggest her a few things then she tries those and then we decide on the clothes and send it to him. It’s a weekly procedure. We are sending him four sets for weekend special episodes so that he has a variety to choose from. Paras likes to have options.

The one that Asim Riaz was wearing yesterday was designed by me. I chose the cloth and then got the colour changed. So when I saw not Paras, but Asim was wearing it, I felt really bad. But then I thought it’s okay, anyway yeh itna accha bhi nahi lag raha. Good that Paras didn't wear it. But in the whole episode, I didn't see him appreciating or giving any credit to Paras, maybe he must have thanked but that portion wasn’t shown on air.
Isn’t it strange that Paras is sharing his clothes with Asim considering they are at loggerheads in the house?
Yes, I was shocked too. Well, the funniest part is Asim's team is making calls to our designers and also to those who are stitching customised clothes, as he wants similar kinds of suits and pants designed for himself. Paras’ colourful pyjamas are on their wish-list. This is really weird because being on the same show, how someone can desire to copy another inmates’ style. It’s a very bad idea.
Is only Asim Riaz wearing his clothes in the Bigg Boss house?
I saw Rashami Desai wearing a T-shirt that I had sent him with the slogan 'Dil Naram, Dimaag Garam'. Recently, I saw a clip in which he was opening the bag that I sent. Mahira and everybody has been asking Paras to share his clothes. He was looking quite happy to see all those customised quotes. I don't mind Asim or others wearing his clothes, but what I am not liking is Asim's team making all the efforts to send him similar clothes the next time.
Now as Paras’ fashion sense has become a talking point, what are you planning to add to his wardrobe?
We will go up a notch as we now know that he is getting noticed and people are discussing about him. I have a piece of advice for those who are trying to copy his style. Copy karne se kuch nahi hota, the person should be confident enough to carry it.
