According to media reports Rubina and Avinash who met on the set of their show 'Chhoti Bahu' didn't speak a word to each other for a span of three months when the show started, thinking they were both arrogant. It was on an outdoor shoot when Rubina and Avinash broke the ice and soon became good friends and then started seeing each other. The two were quite serious about this relationship and wanted to get married. Avinash expressed his wish to marry Rubina to his grandfather who was the head of the family who also gave him his blessings. Soon, trouble brewed in their paradise. It was reported that Avinash's association with another TV actress wreaked havoc in their relationship. After which Avinash got married to his Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?...Ek Baar Phir co-star Shalmalee Desai in 2015, but the two later separated.
