Bigg Boss 18: Salman Khan's Ex-Girlfriend Somy Ali Approached For The Show? Actress BREAKS Silence On Her Participation Rumours
Former Bollywood actress and founder of the NGO No More Tears, Somy Ali, recently found herself amidst rumors suggesting that she would be participating in the reality show Bigg Boss 18. As speculation swirled online, with her name appearing on an alleged list of participants, Somy felt compelled to address the situation. She clarified that these rumors were baseless, emphasizing that she had neither been approached for the show nor had any interest in joining it. Somy explained that her commitment to her nonprofit organization, No More Tears, is her top priority, and she cannot afford to divert her attention to something as time-consuming as a reality show. "I can't leave my nonprofit to be a part of a show whose filming duration is far too long," she stated. Despite the respect she holds for the show, Somy admitted that she had never watched a single episode and had no idea what it entailed. She also mentioned hearing that the show was scripted, but assured that she had never discussed participating with anyone involved in the production. Addressing the nature of reality shows, Somy expressed her disinterest in participating in any scripted format. She called the concept of scripted reality shows an "oxymoron," noting that even if she were approached, she would decline the offer. Somy suggested that the rumors about her participation might be a tactic to boost the show's ratings, a strategy she is familiar with from her days in the film industry. She recounted an incident from the 1990s when she was advised to pretend she was having an affair with a certain actor to generate publicity for an upcoming film, indicating that such strategies are not uncommon.

Somy also acknowledged that her involvement in Bigg Boss 18, whether as a host or participant—would likely draw significant attention, particularly due to her past relationship with superstar and show host Salman Khan. "Think about it: Somy Ali hosting Bigg Boss after SK. Imagine the ratings or even participating in it," she mused, but quickly dismissed the idea as another fabricated strategy.

Concluding her remarks, Somy reiterated her lack of interest in scripted reality shows, especially after her experience working on an unscripted project for Discovery+ and Amazon Prime. She has previously appeared in Bollywood films such as Anth, Yaar Gaddar, Aao Pyaar Karen, and Chupp. Her docu-series Fight or Flight on Discovery+ was one of the most talked-about series of 2021, showcasing her dedication to real, impactful work rather than the world of scripted entertainment.
